Ishanee Chanda

Ishanee Chanda is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) at Georgetown University, with a focus on refugee and humanitarian emergencies. She is particularly interested in refugee and migration issues, resettlement practices, the protection of human rights, and the rise of right-wing nationalism across the globe. She previously worked at the National Conference of State Legislatures on federal and state immigration policy and international programming, providing research on states’ implementation of immigration policy, changes in federal immigration legislation, and international affairs between subnational actors. She hopes to pursue a career in refugee resettlement, humanitarian aid, and development, and speaks Italian, Bengali, Odia, and Hindi.
