Prosecutor-General Orders Detention of Mubarak, Sons

Former President Hosni Mubarak and his sons Alaa and Gamal have been detained for 15 days to investigate allegations of abuse of power, corruption, and charges associated with the death of protesters. Protests since Mubarak’s resignation have regularly included demands for an investigation into the activities of Mubarak and his family.

Reports suggest that Hosni Mubarak suffered medical complications, possibly a heart attack, during questioning yesterday. His sons have been transferred to Cairo’s Tora prison.
