In response to a campaign to publicize the December 18 attack on the anonymous “blue bra girl,” thousands of women and men marched into Tahrir Square this evening in what may have been the largest women’s demonstration in Egypt since 1919. Several protesters held posters featuring a blue bra image. The large demonstration today continued a series of protests against the actions of the governing Supreme Council of the Armed Forces; these demonstrations have resulted in 14 deaths in recent days.
