Mubarak Sentenced to Life in Prison

Today former President Hosni Mubarak was sentenced to life in prison, prompting mixed emotions across Egypt. Mubarak was convicted on charges of complicity with respect to the killing of protesters during the January 25 uprising. Mubarak’s Minister of the Interior Habib el-Adly was also convicted.

A three-judge panel did not find enough evidence to convict Mubarak and his administration with the leading charge of ordering the killing of protesters.
