On March 3 the People’s Assembly and the Shura Council began to choose the 100-member body to be responsible for writing a new Egyptian constitution. The Constituent Assembly, as the body is called, was called for under the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) constitutional declaration of March 2011.
