Twenty-eight Reported Dead as Protests Continue against SCAF


Clashes continued today as about 20,000 protesters crowded Tahrir Square to demand an end of military rule. In response, Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) leader Mohamed Hussein Tantawi accepted the resignation of his transitional government and pledged to not seek the presidency.

Human Rights Watch stated a death toll of 28 protesters and over 1,700 individuals injured since the Mohamed Mahmoud clashes began.
