Supreme Judicial Council Denounces Morsi’s Decree

Clashes continue today in Cairo and Alexandria as the president assured Egyptians that he was acting in the interests of the revolution.

The Supreme Judicial Council also spoke out against President Morsi’s recent presidential decree, calling it an “unprecedented attack on the independence of the judicial branch.” The judiciary supported the ongoing protests.

An assistant to the president, Samir Morkos, has stated an intention to resign over the presidential decree issued just days ago.
