Raghdan Orsud is a Nonresident Fellow at TIMEP focusing on information warfare in Sudan. She is a Sudanese media professional and cofounder of independent Sudanese media platform Beam Reports, working at the intersection of technology, development, and information. With over a decade of experience across some of the world’s leading institutions, she has shaped how information flows in some of the most complex and underreported contexts globally, with a sharp focus on Sudan, the MENA region, and Africa. Her career spans advocacy and communications leadership at Save the Children International; global elections programming at Meta/Facebook; and media and civic engagement work at Internews and the National Democratic Institute. Across these roles, she has consistently operated where technology, policy, and public information converge, building systems, strategies, and narratives that matter. Raghdan brings to TIMEP a distinctive lens: one that understands both the architecture of information ecosystems and the lived realities of the communities they serve. Her work reflects a deep commitment to ensuring that Sudan and the Horn of Africa are not just subjects of global policy conversations but active voices within them. She holds an MA in Political Communication from the University of Leeds.
