One Civilian Dead during Clashes between Police and Protesters

This morning police fired tear gas at a small group of protesters in Tahrir Square. The confrontation escalated, with more protesters coming to the scene and police using increasingly violent means of suppression. The conflict raged throughout the day, leaving over 650 people injured (including 40 police officers) and at least one civilian dead.

Protests also took place in other cities, including Alexandria and Suez.
