Amani Massoud

Amani Massoud is a human rights defender and health advocate based in Egypt. She holds an Master of Public Health from the University of Alexandria and an M.A. in human rights practice from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. Amani has served as a consultant for the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and worked at the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights between 2009 and 2014. She has focused much of her work on health-related rights, the rights of people living with HIV, and the role of physicians and health professionals in promoting the right to health. She has documented cases of violations to medical neutrality by state agents during violent protests since 2011.
