Pathways to Justice in Lebanon

Following years of financial abuse, entrenched corruption, and impunity for devastating incidents like the Beirut Port Explosion, a rare window for enacting meaningful reform has opened in Lebanon. If properly seized, this moment could pave the way for placing citizens’ priorities at the center of the justice and accountability agenda.

To ensure that this agenda meets the needs and priorities of those most impacted, effectively addresses root causes of injustice in Lebanon, and contributes to achieving a just future that respects the rule of law, TIMEP is proud to launch the Pathways to Justice in Lebanon platform.

The platform, available in English and Arabic, aims to serve as a resource for those seeking to understand justice and accountability developments in Lebanon, to navigate legal action and reform proposals taken by justice stakeholders, and to focus on why justice matters.

It is organized into three sections: (1) Case Profiles, which highlight cases involving financial abuses and the Beirut Port Explosion, (2) Explainers, which present digestible analyses addressing important themes on justice and accountability, and (3) Stories, which put forward first-person narratives that humanize the justice conversation and bring it to life. Through this platform, TIMEP seeks to further build on its long-standing commitment to supporting civilians, civil society organizations, and impacted persons to activate a pathway for justice in Lebanon.
